Boron Nitride Heaters - High-performance electric heating elements for the XXIst century (01/12/2016)

Electricfor’s catalogue of heating elements incorporates a new boron nitride heater model specially designed for the adaptation of industry to the 21st century regarding productivity, energy savings, environment protection and cost reduction.

Thanks to boron nitride heaters, heat applications maximise and users get several advantages and benefits, all of them coming mostly from the industrial sector.

Key advantages and benefits

Among the main advantages that boron nitride heaters provide, we find the following ones:

•    Within a boron nitride heater, the temperature is multiplied by 10, when compared with magnesium oxide heaters
•    Heat occurs homogeneously in 100% of cases.
•    The ring-shaped flow improves heat transfer to 100W/cm² and more.
•    They are ATEX and IECEx certified.
•    They have a medium voltage.
•    In a high-temperature environment, it does not occur any leakage current.
•    They have a particular tube case to increase the heat transfer coefficient and the surface heat.
•    They have a reduced weight.

Regarding benefits, which have already been observed by some customers, there are mainly three:

•    They can work at extreme temperatures (from -270°C to 1000°C), without diminishing their useful time of life.
•    Being smaller teams, they use less space and are lighter, so no heat loss occurs. Its cost is more economical, and a reduction in thermal inertia. Heat transfer improves due to its ring shape that reduces the size of the heating system.
•    Production increases since more heat is produced in less time for shorter production cycles. The aim is to reduce the maintenance cycle time.

Applications

Boron nitride heaters apply to almost all industrial sectors. The primary objective is to increase productivity, save space and be able to work in a high-temperature environment. Such industrial sectors are:

•    Shipyards
•    Oil and Gas / Offshore Platforms
•    Chemical Industry
•    Energy Industry
•    Nuclear Industry
•    Packaging.
•    Thermoforming
•    Underwater industry
•    Aeronautics
•    Aerospace Industry
